The stock PayPal plugin for Webasyst still uses the legacy Payments Standard form and IPN. That means redirects, lost "return to merchant" clicks and orders stuck unpaid when IPN fails. PayPal Checkout (REST) replaces it with PayPal's current Orders v2 API.

Customers pay without leaving your order page — PayPal, Pay Later and debit/credit cards through PayPal's Smart Buttons. The order is marked paid the moment the capture completes.

No IPN to configure. Your server builds the amount, and after capture it re-reads the PayPal order and checks the order id, currency and amount before marking anything paid — a tampered browser cannot underpay. Refund in full or in part from the Shop-Script order screen. A dashboard widget shows open disputes, balances and recent transactions.
