Tyro for WooCommerce lets an Australian business that banks its EFTPOS with Tyro take online card payments in WooCommerce through Tyro eCommerce, so in-store and online sales settle with the same provider.

Tyro's pay form on your checkout

Your server creates a Tyro pay request for the order total. Tyro.js, loaded from Tyro, draws the card fields on your payment step, takes the payment and runs 3D Secure when the customer's bank asks for it. Card details never reach your server.

Read back from Tyro before the order is paid

What the browser reports is never trusted on its own. The plugin reads the pay request back from Tyro with your credentials and marks the order paid only when Tyro says it succeeded for this order and the order's own amount. A declined card shows Tyro's reason, and a pay request Tyro has closed is replaced with a new one automatically.

Paid even if the customer closes the page

Give Tyro the notification address shown in the settings and an order is also completed when the customer never returns to your shop. A notification is only a hint: the pay request is read back from Tyro first.

Refunds from the order screen

Press Refund on the order for the full amount or a part of it. The refund goes through Tyro's refund API back to the card that paid.

Good to know

You need a Tyro eCommerce account with Tyro Connect API access (client ID, client secret and Location ID), a store in Australian dollars and HTTPS. Tyro issues test credentials first and live ones after its certification. Apple Pay, Google Pay, saved cards and authorise-then-capture are not included. AllPlugin is not affiliated with Tyro Payments.
